The fall '08 at New York Fashion Week debuted styles infused in '70s couture, punk and hard rock roots. Labels unveiled their fall 2008 lines, and continued the retro bent popular in the world's largest fashion show. Unafraid to take risks, Designers unveiled elaborate variations which called for sequins, ribbons and large bows, the latter of which was another nod to late '70s Fashion Tips and experimented with knit fabric as well as coats to complement the dress. The miniskirts were back in vogue, partnered with tights, which were widely expected to go out of fashion for 2008.

The idea of '70s couture and modernized it was to deem the collections an "eclectic glamour". Retro styles such as bow blouses, pants bordering on the bell-bottom design, and peasant fashions were interspersed with more modern knits, silk and plaid designs for tops, dresses and jackets, respectively.

The captivating looks were created by folding single pieces of jewel-toned silk twill and wool Melton. An unmistakable '70s vibe ran through the collections, from floppy hats to velvet pants to the metallic sheen on just about everything. Models were out wearing black biker jackets, leather dresses and super slim tuxedo jackets looking like squeaky-clean 80s-punk rebels.

Soft, delicate beaded silk chiffon tops and dresses were paired with a slew of Skittles-colored parkas, cropped shear ling coats and little metallic jackets. Spa Treatments Tips With few exceptions, the overwhelming theme was "old is new" and that the '70s were even more in fashion than the shows.
